Sport Fish Colorado was started by Robby Richardson in 2009. It has new owners as of 2023, long time guide Seth Withrow and his wife Aimee. We are your premier Colorado guided fishing company for trips on Blue Mesa, Antero, Taylor, McPhee, 11 Mile, and Morrow Point Reservoirs!

Our guides have logged thousands of hours through the ice and on the water of these locations.  They are focused on and dedicated to meeting the ever-changing needs and expectations of every client they come into contact with. They strive to build your confidence as an angler by teaching and putting into action the latest fishing techniques so that you can succeed and have fun using these techniques with us and on your own!

A full day typically consists of a six hour fishing trip through the ice and on the open water.  Trips can be modified to cater to whatever needs you might have so that you get the exact fishing trip you are looking for.

All of Sport Fish Colorado’s experienced, qualified guides are CPR and First Aid certified. They use the very best equipment available from our fine sponsors and supporters such as Shimano, Power Pro, and Eagle Claw, Trokar, Rocky Mountain Tackle, Blue Mesa Ranch, PK Lures, & Strikemaster. We offer most of our trips out of 18-21’ mid to deep v Lunds and Jet boats, but also have pontoon boats available for bigger parties.

Seth Withrow

Seth Withrow was born in the beautiful state of Colorado and has been fishing for as long as he can remember!  Since he was a kid, he’s had a passion for fishing and bought his first boat at the age of 15, an 8 ft Jon boat.  Seth moved to the Gunnison Valley in 2004 for college and could be found exploring all of the local bodies of water in his tiny boat. He caught his first lake trout while propped on the ice, and his first kokanee both from his little boat. He fishes twelve months a year from small streams, high mountain lakes, beaver ponds, to the largest lakes and reservoirs in the state.

As a long time guide for Sport Fish and new Sport Fish owner, Seth continues to share his passion of fishing with everyone young and old, that steps on his boat or in his ice hut.  He always enjoys taking somebody fishing for the first time and especially loves teaching kids to catch fish, including his own 4 kids.  You will find Seth on the water or ice most days of the season and if he’s not guiding fishing, he’s guiding hunting in Alaska or Lake City, CO.

Collin Osborn

Collin is a Colorado native who has an intense passion for fishing. His favorite part about being a guide is teaching people of all ages how to fish some of the most amazing lakes in Colorado. He and his rescue dog Koda offer multiple different types of trips on some of Colorado’s greatest fisheries from open water to ice. Collin has a Biology degree from Western Colorado University and specialized his studies in aquatic ecosystems with an emphasis on Blue Mesa Reservoir. He has also worked directly with Colorado Parks and Wildlife on several different projects over the years. Be careful when you ask him questions about the biology of these intricate lakes, because he can talk for hours about what makes them so unique!

He loves to catch anything that swims, but one if his greatest specialties is targeting trophy lake trout. Collin has taken it one step further by creating his own baits that have proven to be successful in catching these extremely difficult trophy fish. Whether he has a trip or not, you’ll see him out on the water most days.

Cody and Nanci Schiller

Cody was born and raised in Montrose, Colorado. Fishing had been a family tradition since early childhood. His passion to fish has evolved over time, from childhood family fishing vacations to evening fly fishing early on during his marriage. It has now become a passion to fish at every opportunity. Cody’s favorite location to fish has always been on Blue Mesa but he has fished many other lakes, streams and rivers in Colorado and Alaska. Cody’s favorite species to target is salmon of any kind but he has fished for all local trout species! Though Cody loves to fish, he finds that teaching others to fish has become even more enjoyable! Cody’s wife, Nanci, has become his favorite fishing companion!

Being born a “Navy Brat” is what drew Nanci to love the water! She was born in Oakland, California where she lived until her Dad was sent to Hawaii. They moved to Colorado when Nanci was 9 and she grew up mostly in Grand Junction. Luckily she met Cody, who loves to fish as well, and married him! Nanci has always loved the feel of the tug of the pole when you have a bite!  Now she enjoys watching people who have never fished, experience fishing for the first time. Nanci loves helping them experience that thrill of the “tug” at the other end.

Hunter Enloe

Hunter grew up in North Carolina and was fishing and hunting at a very young age. Visiting Gunnison every year growing up he knew this is where he wanted to live and guide fishing! At 13 years old he finished 2nd in the Youth National Fly Fishing Championships in Cherokee, North Carolina. This led to doing his entire high school online while traveling the world fly fishing with the USA Youth fly fishing team. As a team they won the World Championships 3 years in a row in Ireland, Poland and won the third in the USA. As an individual he finished in the top 10 at every world championships he fished in!

Brandon Owens

Brandon Owens has lived in western Colorado for all his life, and grew up fishing the area. He first began fishing Blue Mesa Reservoir with his dad when he was 2 1⁄2 years old. His passion is chasing trophy Lake Trout, and helping people of all ages have their first productive fishing experience. Brandon’s 9 year old son Colton assists on every trip that he can (assuming he is out of school) as his “Deck Hand”.

Brandon has been blessed to have landed dozens of Lake Trout exceeding 30lbs from the depths of Blue Mesa, though he enjoys taking people on “action” trips almost as much as chasing trophy fish.
